HAPPY NU(DE) YEAR!

Well, what the heck. It’s a new year. I say we start clean, fresh, free, open to new experiences, and…clothing optional. If you’ve never been to a nude beach before, it’s totally worth the experience, even if just once. If you have, I know you want to go again! There really is something very freeing about it. Trick is to go to the right kind for you. From CNN, here are a few of the best nude beaches around the world: “Although still taboo in many places, casting aside your clothes at the shore has become a customary practice around the world in recent times.”

STARRY-EYED TRAVELER

If nude beaches aren’t your thing, but you don’t really know what is, why don’t you ask the universe for some help. Honestly, who cares if you believe in this stuff or not, but, if on a whim, you go where the founders of Moonbox think you ought to based on astrology, why not I say? You never know…perhaps some 2019 adventure is in store for you? “Since your zodiac sign can point out so much about you, from personality traits to what really makes you happy, it makes sense that it can be helpful in choosing the best trip for you.” Cambodia, here I come – glad I wrote about it in my last newsletter!

CORDOBAYAYAY

As a fairly easy (and lovely) place to visit with a great party scene, you’ve probably been to Spain as a twenty-something backpacker. Well, now you have another excuse: for the culture (that’s right. I mean, you can still do the whole party-til-you-drop thing too). Cordoba was just named as the city with the most UNESCO World Heritage sites in the world. From CNN: “Around a million people visited Cordoba in 2017, whereas Barcelona and Seville saw 8.9 million and 2.6 million tourists in 2017, respectively. But Cordoba, part of Andalusia and less than a two-hour train ride a from Madrid or a 45-minute train ride from Seville, is worthy of big travel acclaim. As of 2018, it’s the first city in the world to have four UNESCO World Heritage Sites, surpassing Rome and Paris.”

HI, I’D LIKE ONE ROUND TRIP BUMP PLEASE

Looking to make a few thousand dollars off the airline for a change? Here are a few helpful tips on how to get bumped from a flight and how to maximize those bump rewards! Honestly, this is a good read regardless of whether you’re aiming for the bump or not. From Forbes: “According to the Bureau of Transportation Statistics, over 365,000 passengers were bumped from flights last year. In 2017, I made global headlines when I scored $11,000 from Delta Airlines after my family and I got bumped off a series of flights during the busy spring break travel season. “

BEAR WITH ME: HAWAIKE THE BEAUTIFUL BEACHES

Ah, Hawaii. Paradise. One can never be there long enough. If you’re planning a trip to Hawaii, you’re definitely going for the beaches. You may also be going for a hike or two. To maximize your time, what if we combined these two activities? That’s what CNN has done with a list of some of the best beach hikes in Hawaii: “Cross the beach to find a section of the 175-mile ancient Ala Kahakai Trail, which leads up a grassy slope to the remains of a temple, Kane’ele’ele Heaiu, said to be over 1,500 years old.” Sounds tantalizing.
